The Daiwa Kiyose 43 M-Y is an extremely versatile rod. It is a keiryu rod, designed for fishing with a light line and split shot. It will do very equally well with a tenkara line and either an unweighted fly or a bead head fly. It can be fished at two lengths, 12'7" or 14'1". It will cast level lines ranging from size 3 to size 4.5, about any furled line and the Daiwa Floating tenkara lines. It is more rod than you would need for smaller fish, and will easily handle trout in the 16-20 inch range and bass to 3-4 pounds. It is actually one of the better rods for largemouth or smallmouth bass.
