The Presso ST 56UL-S is similar to the Presso ST 56XUL, although it has a solid tip rather than the tubular tip of the Presso ST 56XUL. It has the same hardwood reel seat and hard foam grip. The lure ratings are the same for both rods, at .4-3g. The line rating is slightly higher for the 56UL-S at 1.5 - 4 lb compared to 1.5 - 3 lb for the 56XUL.
Comparing the Presso ST 56UL-S to the solid tipped Daiwa Iprimi 56XXUL-S, the Presso is a much nicer rod. I think anglers other than those wanting the softest possible rod for micro fishing would prefer the Presso ST 56UL-S.
