Old Geezer's Wide-Eyed Flies™ for squint-eyed guys. Tied by and for some old geezer whose eyes aren't sharp and whose hands aren't steady. The hook eyes are seriously wide - wide enough that you really don't need sharp eyes or steady hands to tie them to your tippet.
Baker's dozen (13) flies tied with C'ultiva SBL-35 barbless hooks, sewing thread and Whiting hackle. The flies are tied in accordance with two basic philosophies: 1) Somebody should tie flies specifically for people whose eyes are no longer sharp, whose hands are no longer steady, and who have trouble threading their tippet through the eyes of standard flies, and 2) neatly tied, perfectly proportioned flies catch fishermen and scruffy flies that look like they've already been chewed up catch fish. The "clamps & nippers" flies are scruffy, ugly flies.
