Smith D-Contact 50S "Ugui"
Many minnows in the US share a similar color pattern, with an olive-brown back, a dark stripe down the side and a white or off-white belly. The Japanese minnow with the closest color pattern is the Ugui. It has two stripes rather than one, but the overall impression is pretty much the same.
The Smith D-Contact 50S Ugui looks more like a black nose dace than any minnow plug I have ever seen. There are probably thirty other species in the US that are similar enough to the D-Contact 50S Ugui that a trout it would immediately see it as "food."
The lure isn't cheap, but I am confident that it will prove to be very effective.
