The Suntech PRSPEC RC 52 soft is a 3-position zoom rod that can be fished at 14'4", 15'9" or 16'11". The recommended tippet range is from 10X to 8X. To protect tippet that light, the rod is very soft. The design goal is to allow the angler to fish with an extremely light line, a very small hook and small bait, and the minimum amount of weight to get the bait down to the fish. That allows the bait to have an almost perfectly natural drift. The very soft rod also allows a fish to take the bait and turn without feeling tension on the line. The combination is really extremely effective but given the light tippet, it is for modest fish in modest current.
